My new piano

About six years ago, I inherited my family piano. This is a piano that has been in my family for generations. It was my great grandmother’s piano, then my mother’s piano and then mine. I have loved it, and played it often. Unfortunately, it is now at least sixty years old and well used. It has moved many times, and the years have taken it’s tole. The poor piano is missing strings, the keys are chipped and there are more problems that even a professional restorer could not identify (we had it checked out). The bottom line is, it doesn’t play anymore. Jeff and I have been hoping to restore it to like new condition, but when we had a restorer come and look at it, there was too much work that needed to be done and we just can’t afford it. We discovered that it would be half the cost to buy a brand new piano. So we bought a new piano. I know that sounds crazy, but we got a great deal on a clearance piano. It is a beautiful Kohler and Campbell 47 inch studio upright. We are keeping the old piano in our basement and hope to find something significant to do with it. I am looking forward to making my own history with this beautiful new instrument.
